Bolivia's Glaciers Melt

EWB-KU's Vice President, JP Bornholdt, recently found an interesting video about Bolivia's Chacaltaya glacier.

The Chacaltaya glacier was once home to the world's highest ski resort and was a critical source of water for the region. In 2009 the glacier ceased to exist.

The glacier was nearby to our project in Bolivia.

Helping Haiti

A benefit for Haiti, sponsored by a range of local businesses, will take place at 8:00 pm, Sunday January 31st, at Liberty Hall. Admission is $10. There will be food, drinks, and live music, as well as a silent auction.

All proceeds are going to Partners in Health, an aid organization that has a long history on the ground in Haiti. They have confirmed that a remarkable 96% of funds received will go directly to health care for the Haitian people.

December 7^th & 8^th are the last days this semester that EWB has.

December EWB General Meeting

If you happened to miss the December general meeting of Engineers Without Borders, here are a few things you missed:

The EWB Chili Feed was a great success
The last two Dine to Donates at Chilis are on the 7th & 8th of December
High School Outreach had a busy November
EWB may be traveling to Greensburg, KS in January

The next meeting will be February 4th in 2 Eaton

We were also privileged to hear Frank Bergh of Burns & Mcdonnell talk about his experiences abroad and how EWB has played a role in his life.

Dine to Donate At Chili's

Engineers Without Borders will be having their Dine to Donate nights at Chili's on November 9th & 10th as well as December 7th.
